Amit Prothi

Director General

Amit Prothi es un experto mundial en resiliencia climática e infraestructura resiliente a desastres, y actualmente ocupa el cargo de director general de la Coalición para las Infraestructuras Resilientes a los Desastres (CDRI). Con casi 30 años de experiencia en más de 15 países de Asia, Europa y América del Norte, combina liderazgo estratégico, conocimientos técnicos y experiencia práctica en el terreno en materia de planificación urbana, adaptación al clima y resiliencia ante desastres.

Bajo el liderazgo de Amit, la CDRI se ha convertido en un organismo internacional, se ha expandido a nivel mundial y ha dado la bienvenida a nuevos miembros. Ha encabezado iniciativas como el fondo fiduciario, el índice de resiliencia, los modelos de riesgo y los programas de infraestructura. Su experiencia está sirviendo de base para las políticas en sectores clave de infraestructura, mientras que la CDRI ha ganado reconocimiento en foros como el G20 y la COP de la CMNUCC, consolidando su papel en la promoción de infraestructuras resilientes ante desastres.

La carrera de Amit incluye puestos de liderazgo en AECOM, consultoría para el Banco Asiático de Desarrollo y el Banco Mundial, y colaboración con think tanks u organizaciones filantrópicas globales, como 100 Resilient Cities, respaldada por la Fundación Rockefeller. Es licenciado en arquitectura y planificación urbana por la SPA de Delhi y la UMass Amherst, y realizó estudios de doctorado en el Instituto Tecnológico de Massachusetts.

Lead Specialist

Alpana heads institutional partnerships, governance, and resource mobilization at CDRI, advancing cross-sector collaborations that drive resilient infrastructure programming across Member Countries and organizations. With over 25 years of experience spanning international development, global health, and the non-profit sector, she brings deep expertise in fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and delivering strategic change. 

At CDRI, Alpana has been pivotal in forging strategic alliances with governments, international organizations, and philanthropies. She also plays a key role in fortifying institutional systems and board governance mechanisms as the Coalition transitions into an international organization. 

Before joining CDRI, Alpana held senior leadership roles at The George Institute for Global Health, Plan India, WaterAid India, and SOS Children’s Villages, leading institutional fundraising and cultivating strategic partnerships for social impact. 

She holds a Master’s in Finance & Control from Aligarh Muslim University and completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School (CSR India). Her work is driven by a commitment to building enduring, values-based partnerships that accelerate sustainable development outcomes.
