The project falls within the field of technological innovation as an innovative, still underutilized, surveying tool for geohazards assessment will be tested in real-world scenarios. Specifically, the technique proposed could be used for easy collecting more accurate spatial data, integrating all the geological features to build usable models (digital twin).
The present proposal aims to fully exploit the potential of Imaging in the field of Engineering Geology using ultra-high-definition optical digital imaging (Gigapixel). The overall goal is to develop and test on-field an innovative and low-cost tool (e.g., robotic head) for understanding geological processes such as landslides, avalanches and floods.
