Royal University of Bhutan is one of the two tertiary education institute in Bhutan with 11 colleges. Most of the buildings were constructed using RC as schools in the 1990s, before the introduction of seismic codes in the country. Therefore, this study will identify and assess the seismic risk and vulnerability for critical infrastructure like colleges is crucial for ensuring safety and functionality during and post-earthquake period. The threat identification and recommendation will assist decision-makers to implement seismic risk reduction strategies and policies within the RUB fostering a safer learning environment for students and staff.
