Tanaya Sarmah

Tanaya is an architect and urban planner who brings with her more than six years of experience in disaster risk reduction and resilience. She has worked on hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment, and formulated actionable strategies for societal resilience and critical infrastructure protection using both top-down and bottom-up approaches. She has contributed to research projects by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various geographies. She is also familiar with developing research designs and training materials, research dissemination at global forums, and is proficient in creating knowledge products such as technical reports and journal articles. 

Prior to joining CDRI, she worked as a Postdoctoral researcher with the School of Water, Energy, and Environment, Cranfield University, United Kingdom. 

Tanaya holds a Ph.D. from the School of Infrastructure Design and Management, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
