Project name: Strengthening Institutional and Technical Capacity for Climate Resilient Transport Infrastructure Development in PNG
The project supports the government of Papua New Guinea in developing climate-resilient transport infrastructure by strengthening vulnerable roads and bridges while ensuring that new designs withstand future climate challenges.
A climate risk and vulnerability assessment method has been piloted to enable precise data collection and analysis, guiding investment decisions and road design standards.
The project strengthens the capacity of the Department of Works and Highways, empowering them in risk-informed planning and climate-resilient operation and maintenance of the national road network.
