Infrastructure Resilience Academic Exchange (IRAX) is a unique initiative by the Coalition for Disaster Resilience (CDRI) which intends to create a DRI-centric academic network that aims to create structured engagements with global academic institutions. Through leveraging academic and industrial networks for research and capacity development, IRAX seeks to create a cadre of industry-ready professionals with DRI capabilities to enhance infrastructure resilience across CDRI member countries.
The objectives of IRAX are:
-
Curating opportunities for higher education and research in climate and disaster resilient infrastructure
-
Catalysing research on innovative solutions for DRI and its application in real-world scenarios
-
Creating a cadre of industry-ready infrastructure professionals on DRI
Why IRAX?
IRAX will foster strong university-to-university cooperation across CDRI member countries. Recognizing the diverse academic strengths within the CDRI network, IRAX will act as a knowledge conduit:
-
Facilitating knowledge sharing: IRAX will enable the seamless exchange of knowledge and resources among institutions, fostering collaborative research projects.
-
Bridging the gap: IRAX will connect institutions with established expertise in DRI with those seeking to enhance their educational offerings, research methodologies, and research capabilities.
