Project name: Disaster Management for Highways: CDRI–Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of India (MORTH) Collaboration

CDRI provided technical expertise to National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd in developing a Disaster Management Plan (DMP) for MoRTH, ensuring effective disaster response for roads and highways.

Ce plan met l’accent sur le maintien de la connectivité routière, en définissant des stratégies de préparation, de réponse et de relèvement.

En protégeant les infrastructures et la sécurité des usagers durant les catastrophes, le PGC accroît la résilience, soutient la gestion durable des transports et renforce le secteur pour affronter et se relever des événements extrêmes.

Le PGC renforce la résilience des routes et autoroutes face aux perturbations catastrophiques, en assurant un rétablissement rapide de la connectivité routière. Cette approche proactive réduit les pertes économiques tout en améliorant la sécurité et la fiabilité des réseaux de transport.

En intégrant des stratégies de préparation et de relèvement, le plan dote les autorités d’outils efficaces pour réduire les risques. Des mécanismes renforcés de coordination et de réponse optimisent la gestion des situations d’urgence, garantissant la continuité de la mobilité pendant et après les événements extrêmes.

Le PGC favorise une résilience durable en s’attaquant aux vulnérabilités existantes et en intégrant des solutions adaptatives. Ce cadre soutient une planification efficace des infrastructures, protégeant les systèmes de transport essentiels contre les aléas futurs tout en consolidant la préparation générale face aux catastrophes.

With over 25 years of experience spanning international development, global health, and the non-profit sector, she brings deep expertise in fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and delivering strategic change. 

At CDRI, Alpana has been pivotal in forging strategic alliances with governments, international organizations, and philanthropies. She also plays a key role in fortifying institutional systems and board governance mechanisms as the Coalition transitions into an international organization. 

Before joining CDRI, Alpana held senior leadership roles at The George Institute for Global Health, Plan India, WaterAid India, and SOS Children’s Villages, leading institutional fundraising and cultivating strategic partnerships for social impact. 

She holds a Master’s in Finance & Control from Aligarh Muslim University and completed Executive Education at Harvard Business School (CSR India). Her work is driven by a commitment to building enduring, values-based partnerships that accelerate sustainable development outcomes.
