

Project name:Engagement with G20: Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group
CDRI, as a knowledge partner to the G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group under India, Brazil, and South Africa Presidencies, actively contributed to discussions, interventions, and reports.
It led efforts in compiling best practices, facilitating knowledge sharing, and advancing resilient infrastructure through ministerial engagements, roundtables, and policy contributions.
The ‘Compendium of Good Practices on DRI’ featuring 52 case studies, was recognized in the Brazil G20 Ministerial Declaration, emphasizing capacity building, data sharing, and voluntary technology transfer for infrastructure resilience.
G20 India (2023) and South Africa (2025) Summit Leaders’ Declaration recognized the importance of CDRI’s work to enhance DRI.

CDRI actively influenced disaster risk reduction policies within the G20 DRRWG, contributing to ministerial discussions and influencing global strategies on financing, resilience, and capacity building for equitable infrastructure investments.

The two compendiums present 78 global case studies on disaster resilient housing and infrastructure, highlighting climate adaptation, inclusive recovery, sectoral interventions, financing, nature-based solutions, risk assessments, and governance frameworks to advance resilient, sustainable, and community-driven development worldwide.

Through interventions at key G20 gatherings, CDRI emphasized disaster resilience, equitable financing, and policy innovation, fostering partnerships among governments, multilateral banks, private sector leaders, and civil society organizations.
