This virtual event featured Sasakawa Award winner and Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister of India, Dr. P.K. Mishra, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Disaster Risk Reduction, Mami Mizutori; and other high-level participants from around the globe who will reflect on the impact of COVID-19 in particular, and disasters in general, on countries’ health infrastructure and supply chains and make recommendations that can be fed into broader international and national level policy processes in 2021.

It is one of a series of webinars organized by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) with its partners as pre-events to the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure 2021 (ICDRI 2021). The 17 December webinar organized with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) aims to accelerate and support delivery of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction’s Target (d): Substantially reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption of basic services, among them health and educational facilities, including through developing their resilience by 2030.
