Wasi Md Alam is currently working as a Senior Specialist, Capacity Development with CDRI. He has over a decade of experience in strengthening capacities of key stakeholders on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate change Adaptation- undertook learning need assessment, designed, imparted and evaluated numerous training/ToT programmes at state, national and regional level. Prior to CDRI, he led CARE India’s Disaster Management (DM) Unit based in Delhi and was a member of the Programme Leadership Team, CARE International (CI) Humanitarian Working Group and also led the development of Vision 2030 and reviewing global Indicators on DM for CI. for He also chaired the Sphere India’s National Inter Agency Coordination Committee and was also co-chair of shelter sector committee.
He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work (specialization in social development) from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and has qualified the National Eligibility Test.
