Swapnil Saxena

Swapnil’s work experience includes development research, policy analysis, and program management, with a focus on resilient infrastructure, climate change adaptation, displacement and migration, and inequality.

Prior to joining CDRI, Swapnil worked as a Research Associate for CDRI’s Global Infrastructure Resilience Report, seconded from UNDP. Earlier, she worked at the National Institute of Urban Affairs, where she led knowledge capitalization and capacity building for the CITIIS (City Investments to Innovate, Integrate, and Sustain) program, a sub-component of the Government of India’s flagship Smart Cities Mission. She also managed projects in the housing, public space, education, and health sectors. She began her career as a researcher and housing rights activist at the Housing and Land Rights Network, where she conducted research and was involved in advocacy and capacity-building activities.

Graduating as a Gold Medallist, Swapnil holds a Master’s in Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from Nagpur University.
