Ranjini has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) at the national, regional and local level in India. She has worked for more than 14 years with the United Nations (UNDP-India, UNDRR and UN Resident Coordinator’s Office) where she managed large-scale programmes and initiatives on DRR in a leadership role, while engaging with various stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams. She has also been a part of many important initiatives of GOI in the field of DRR.
Prior to joining CDRI, she was with the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in India, responsible for coordinating and advancing the system-wide efforts on DRR and resilience and formulation of the GOI-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2027).
Her expertise lies in reconstruction and recovery planning, earthquake risk management, urban resilience, disaster risk governance and policy planning, post-disaster needs assessment, knowledge management, training and capacity building and programme management.
Ranjini holds a M.Sc. in Geography and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University.
