Ranjini Mukherjee
Director - Research, Knowledge Management & Capacity Development
Ranjini heads the research, knowledge management, and capacity development portfolio in CDRI. With over 20 years of experience in disaster risk reduction at national, regional, and local levels in India, she offers extensive technical expertise and policy insight to support CDRI’s objectives.
Before joining CDRI, Ranjini held leadership roles with UNDP India, UNDRR, and the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office, India. She managed large-scale disaster risk reduction programmes, shaped national policy discussions, and provided technical support in the development of the 2023–27 UN-GOI Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
She has expertise in the area of post-disaster recovery and reconstruction planning, earthquake risk management, urban resilience, disaster risk governance, post-disaster needs assessments, and capacity building.
Ranjini holds a M.Sc. in Geography and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University. She is passionate about bridging evidence and action, translating policies into practice, and fortifying infrastructure resilience through strategic engagement, learnings, trainings and knowledge exchange.
