Regional Road Network Resilience Using Landslide Susceptibility Model in India

Partenaire de mise en œuvre: Build Change

Project name:Regional Road Network Resilience using Landslide Susceptibility Model in India

This study presents an advanced framework for landslide risk mapping, integrating probabilistic slope stability analysis with cutting-edge simulation techniques.

It optimizes probe point placement for precise data collection, addressing gaps in existing landslide maps of India’s Western Ghats.

By incorporating critical soil characteristics often overlooked in conventional assessments, this approach enhances risk prediction accuracy and strengthens infrastructure protection, ensuring safer road networks and more reliable disaster preparedness in landslide-prone regions.

Impact and Key Findings

1

The study refines Kerala’s Western Ghats landslide inventory by integrating recent data, enhancing the accuracy of hazard assessments. This updated dataset strengthens risk evaluation and management strategies, supporting more effective disaster preparedness and infrastructure resilience in vulnerable regions.

2

This method merges probabilistic slope stability analysis with simulation techniques to refine landslide risk mapping. By incorporating geotechnical properties like soil characteristics, it significantly improves prediction accuracy, strengthening hazard assessments and infrastructure resilience in vulnerable regions.

3

By integrating detailed soil and terrain data, this framework enhances landslide prediction accuracy, providing more reliable risk assessments. Its improved precision supports informed decision-making, strengthening infrastructure safety and disaster preparedness efforts across the Western Ghats’ vulnerable regions.
