Project name: The Approaching Threat of Global Climate Change: Assessing and Promoting the Readiness of Healthcare Facilities to Heat Waves in the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Region
Hospitals are crucial during disasters yet face growing risks. This project assesses heatwave preparedness in Türkiye’s earthquake-affected provinces, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, and Gaziantep, amid escalating climate threats.
Using the Hospital Safety Index and a Delphi-informed framework, it evaluates current resilience levels.
A final workshop will co-design strategies to boost heat-readiness, addressing the dual challenges of post-earthquake vulnerability and intensifying climate-related health risks in these high-risk communities.
