Garima Jain

Garima Jain is a Consultant at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements. She works within the nexus of disaster risk reduction and human development, with a particular focus on development policies. She works on issues of urban infrastructure, especially those that have implications for the urban poor. She has been part of the Secretariat for the Sustainable Development Goals agenda for the cities (SDG 11). She has led several urban policy projects including those on private sector investment in urban infrastructure for risk reduction with UNISDR, post-disaster housing and resettlement policies research with CDKN, urban poverty portfolio strategy for UNDP, and an urban policy support partnership with Rockefeller Foundation. Garima also serves on the Urban Planning Advisory Group to the Special Representative to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. Garima is trained in public policy, urban planning and architecture.
