Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist, World Bank India

Deepak Singh is currently working as Senior Disaster Risk Management Specialist at the World Bank Office at New Delhi. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of Urban Planning, and Disaster Risk Management. During past twelve years, he has worked on several post disaster recovery and risk reduction initiatives on behalf of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Important associations include post Tsunami recovery in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry; post Floods and Cyclone recoveries in Bihar, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and J&K; cyclone risk mitigation efforts in coastal Indian states; and post-earthquake in Nepal. He completed his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Center for Environment Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad in 1991 and Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi in 1988.
